I have been a stone and marblemason for over forty years. Left school at fifteen years of age and apprenticed with the old London memorial firm of J Joslins, now sadly gone.
I have. among other things, made marble memorials, designed an installed stone fireplaces, cut and made granite kitche tops, and successfully ran a stone housesign business for several years.

My skills and knowledge are practical and based on real world experience.
I know little of the scientific origins of stones and marbles etc, but I can tell you with some confidence how to work and use them!

For several years I worked on ancient monuments, replacing damaged stonework on the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, and the Houses of Parliament.
In my time I have been a restoration carver on churches and laid old London York paving. I have designed and made original fireplaces in stone and marble.
In fact there s very little on the practical side I have not done!
